What is Telepathy?

Telepathy is defined as the psychic phenomena by which communication occurs between minds; it is the ability to transmit words, emotions, or images to someone else’s mind. The communication between two minds, separated by a distance, occurs without the use of the five known senses and at some point, we all have experienced it.

In my research on this topic, I found information about different experiments and Scientific Studies and Evidence.

Scientific Studies And Evidence About Telepathic Communication

One of the most famous studies took place in 1937. The experiment was conducted by Harold Sherman who was residing in New York and explorer Hubert Wilkins was off exploring the Arctic.

Every day for a period of five months, at the end of every day, each sat down and would write down their thoughts and reactions, about 75 percent of the time they would pick up correct impressions from each other.

Dr. Paul Stevens conducted research in Scotland at Edinburgh University among couples emotionally close. Using video recordings, one partner would relay a message mentally to the other about what they had seen on the videos, with a high percentage of success by the receivers.

Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, an English biologist, and author, has studied telephone telepathy – where someone calls after you’ve been thinking about them. He also studied telepathy between mothers and children. His numerous papers have shown high statistical incidents.

Despite the success of their experiment, the skepticism about telepathy remains.

The Stargate Project

In the 1970s, a secret U.S army unit, working in conjunction with the Defense Intelligence Agency, conducted research and experiments in which they attempted to test the existence and application of so-called “psychoenergetics” for use in military operations.

For nearly 20 years and with $20 million Stargate Project, the U.S. government was training an army of telepaths. At some point, as many as 22 of these psychics, both civilian and military personnel worked in the Project.

In typical Stargate experiments, psychics personnel were asked to do things like “access and describe” locations such as the U.S. Library of Congress, a distant lighthouse, and Stonehenge.

While many inside the project considered it a success and believed their findings provided proof of the effectiveness of psychic techniques for military uses, these claims were later refuted. The Project was transferred to the CIA in 1995 in it was closed after the CIA in a panel with the American Institutes for Research issued a report claiming the Stargate report was an expensive failure, citing sloppy methodology as the reason for most of its supposed positive findings.

Apollo 14

A telepathic experiment conducted during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971 proved distance is not a barrier. The experiment was not authorized by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Moreover, it was not announced until the mission was completed.

Astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell conducted the experiment with four recipients on Earth, 150,000 miles below. Mitchell concentrated on sequences of twenty-five random numbers. He completed 200 sequences. Guessing 40 correctly was the mean chance. Two of the recipients guessed 51 correctly. This far exceeded Mitchell’s expectations, but still was only moderately significant.

Is It Possible to Develop Telepathy?

With practice, you should be able to develop some level of telepathy. Below are some easy to follow steps to exercise your telepathy abilities:

  • Choose a close friend of a family member who is interested to practice the exercises with you
  • Sit down in a relaxed position with your back straight, your palms of your hands in your thighs, feets flat on the ground, slightly apart and meditate for a few minutes. Do your best to focus your mind in a single thought.  With practice, it should get easier to focus your mind. You can find information about meditation here
  • Once you’re in a calm, focused state, you’re ready to try sending a telepathic message. Keep in mind that both the sender and receiver of the telepathic message should relax and clear their minds.
  • Visualize the person receiving your message. Close your eyes, and picture the receiver as clearly as possible. Try to imagine that they are sitting or standing right in front of you. See details with your mind’s eye, such as the person’s eye color, weight, height, length of hair, and the way they sit or stand.
  • It might be helpful to look at a picture of the receiver before you begin visualizing him/her.
  • As you build your mental image and send it to the receiver, he/she should relax and focus on being open to the message. Ask them to clear their mind and remain in a relaxed and receptive state of mind.
  • Imagine how it feels to communicate with the person. Call to mind the feelings you experience when you interact with the person face-to-face. Feel these emotions as if the person was actually in your presence. Focus on these feelings, and believe that you are creating a connection with the other person.
  • Focus on a simple image or word. When you’re just starting out, stick with something simple, such as a nearby object. Visualize it with as much detail as possible, and focus your mind solely on it. Concentrate on what it looks like, what it’s like to touch it, and how it makes you feel.
  • For instance, imagine an apple or any other fruit or object that is easy for you to visualize. See a particular object as clearly as possible in your mind’s eye. If it is a fruit , imagine its taste and the feeling of biting into it. Focus your thoughts solely on the object and nothing else.
  • Transmit your message. After forming a clear mental image, imagine the object traveling from your mind into the receiver’s mind. Visualize yourself face-to-face with the receiver, and say to them, “Apple,” or whichever thought you’re transmitting. In your mind’s eye, see the look of realization on their face as he/she understand what you’re telling them.
  • Keep in mind there’s a difference between being focused and straining. Concentrate on the mental image, but stay relaxed.
  • Once you’ve sent the thought, release it from your mind, and don’t think about it anymore. Imagine that you’ve given it away to the receiver and are no longer holding onto it.
  • Ask the receiver to write down what comes to their mind. Once you’ve sent the message, the receiver should remain relaxed and open until they sense that a thought has entered their mind. They should then write down whatever has come to their mind.
  • Before checking in with the receiver, you should also write down the thought you were trying to send. This can help you stay objective when you compare your results.
  • Compare results with one another. When you’re both ready, you and the receiver should show each other what you’ve written. Don’t get discouraged if you’re not successful, especially at first. Take some time to clear your mind, and then try again with a different image.
  • Don’t get down on yourself if you’re not able to send a clear telepathic message. Just try to have fun while you try!
  • And finally, we need to keep in mind that practice and consistency are key when trying to master any aspect in our lives. Try once, again, and again until you start seeing the results you are looking for.

Are Telepathy and Telekinesis the Same

No, Telepathy is defined as the ability to transmit words, emotions, or images to someone else’s mind. Telekinesis in the other hand is the ability that some people claim to have to move objects, to bend spoons, or to make a change on the shape of an object.
